AustralianWillKit.com.au is a plain guide for people in Australia who want to make a will themselves, with a kit, an online service or a Public Trustee. It explains what makes a will valid in each state and territory, who can witness one, what wills cost and how powers of attorney work. It's operated by Dominet BV.
This is general information, not legal advice. Will and power of attorney rules differ by state and territory. For advice on your situation, speak to a lawyer or your state's Public Trustee. AustralianWillKit.com.au is an independent guide operated by Dominet BV. We aren't a law firm, we don't sell wills or kits, and we don't draft wills. No link on this site is an affiliate link right now. We may earn a commission from will providers in future when a reader buys through a link on this site. If that happens we'll label those links and explain it in our affiliate disclosure, and it won't change the facts we publish. Rules, fees and prices were checked on official and provider websites on 30 October 2026 and can change. Read our general information notice.
Why this site exists
Will kits and online wills are cheap and quick, but the rules about signing and witnessing differ between states, and a mistake can cost a beneficiary their gift or leave a will open to question. Much of what's written about wills online is written to sell a product. We wanted one place that sets out the rules from each state's own legislation and government pages, with a link and a date for every fact.
What we do
- Summarise each state's wills legislation and link the official register.
- Explain what Public Trustees, Legal Aid services and state governments say about making wills and powers of attorney.
- Record will provider prices and features with dated facts from each provider's own website.
- Show when every page was published, updated and last reviewed.
What we don't do
- We aren't a law firm and we don't give legal advice.
- We don't sell wills, kits or powers of attorney, and we don't draft wills.
- We don't rate, rank or score will providers.
- We don't collect your details or run a contact form.
- We don't repeat claims from provider websites that we can't check, such as customer numbers or review scores.
Who runs it
Operated by Dominet BV, Panamalaan 7D, 1019 AS Amsterdam, the Netherlands (KvK 75389517).
Pages are written and checked by the Dominet BV editorial team. As at 30 October 2026, no page on the site has been reviewed by a lawyer, and we say so here rather than imply otherwise. We have no commercial arrangement with any will provider, and no link on the site is an affiliate link. Our affiliate disclosure explains what will change if that does. To report a mistake, see our contact page.
How we keep it accurate
Legal rules come from each state's legislation register, or from its Public Trustee, Legal Aid service or government website. Provider facts come only from that provider's own site. If we couldn't read a source, we say so on the page, as with the NSW legislation register and Australia Post's kit pages on 30 October 2026. Our sources page lists every page we used and where it's used.
